Tigran Mets Avenue

The avenue begins at the Republic Square of Yerevan. It continuous to Amiryan Street from North to South and becomes a crossing street with traffic flowing from Hanrapetoutyan and Agatangeghos streets to the nearest square of “Ayrarat” cinema and then to Yerevan Railway Station.
At the beginning of the street there are some 2-3 stored residential buildings and trade centers dating back to the 19 – 20 th centuries made of black tuf (stone). By the way all these buildings had all the features of the urban architecture. In 1920-30s the street was called the Sothern, in 1940- Mikoyan Avenue, in 1957 – October Avenue and since 1991 it has been called Tigran Mets Avenue.
