“If I were to mention the best 50 films of the world the first would be Sergey Parajanov’s “The Color of Pomegranates”, mentioned Gevorg Gevorgyan, Director of Armenian National Cinema Center.

Today is eminent film director Sergey Parajanov’s birthday: an artist who was banned to shoot films and whose works undergone Soviet censorship.

G. Gevorgyan mentioned that Parajanov was a person with inborn talent. During the last years of his life he was shooting autobiographic film “The Confession” but he leaved his final masterpiece unfinished. The incomplete film further was used by Mikhayel Vardanov in his documentary film “Parajanov: The last spring”.
