This year Armenia hosts “Junior Eurovision 2011” Song Contest which will be held in Sport and Concert Complex after Karen Demirchyan in Yerevan. Junior Eurovision Song Contest was created in 2003 by European Broadcasting Union (EBU) who also produced the Eurovision Song, Eurovision Dance and many other contests. We should remember that last year Vladimir Arzumanyan brought victory to Armenia by his brilliant performance on the Junior Eurovision stage in Minsk with his song “Mama”. Despite this victory, it was not sure that Armenia would get the honor of hosting the competition because the winning country is not given right to automatically host next edition of JESC. Armenia was appointed as the country hosting “Junior Eurovision 2011” Song Contest through a bid procedure. And the victory of little Vova even more encouraged the organizers of the contest who spared no efforts to organize a wonderful show for the children and guests.
13 countries are going to take part in “Junior Eurovision 2011”. And Dalita with her song “Welcome to Armenia” will represent our country in the 9th annual song contest of Junior Eurovision. 12 year-old Dalita became famous in Armenia after taking part in the Armenia’s “Hidden Talent” program. She has created 6 songs and music videos that have been included in different musical collections. The draw of the sequence of the songs took place 1.5 months ahead of the competition according to which our participant will sing under number 4, and the representative of Russia will open the song contest.
Dalita’s song “Welcome to Armenia” was selected still on September 17 during the Armenian selection of “Junior Eurovision” contest. “Welcome to Armenia” is a lively song which by its catching sounds attracts the listeners’ attention and forces to dance sustaining to the rhythms of the music. Sport and Concert Complex is ready to host the beautiful tradition of the “Junior Eurovision” song festival with great splendor. On December 2 and 3 the songs of 13 participants will be performed on the Eurovision stage in Yerevan making a great holiday of song for all of us.
