Overview

Date of foundation: 2010
Height: 1396 m
Architect: Michele de Lucchi

Built on the Kura River, the Bridge of Peace connects Hercules II Street and Rike Park.
The building was designed by Italian architect Michel de Lucchi and designed by Frenchman Philippe Martino. The opening took place in 2010. This footbridge is one of the favorite places for tourists as it connects two important parts of the city. On the left is the ancient Narikala fortress, from which you can see Old Tbilisi and the famous Abanotubani – Tbilisi sulfur baths built on the slopes of the mountains. To the right is a 5th-century Georgian statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali and light brown and pink waterside buildings.
And at the center of it all, connecting the two banks of the Kura River, is an ultra-modern 150-meter glass and metal structure known as the Bridge of Peace.
The bridge is not the only project of this architect in Tbilisi. Prior to that, in Tbilisi, according to his project, a presidential residence was built in Avlabari, which has considerable tourist attraction.
