Is medical insurance required for tourists in Armenia? No, it is not mandatory. While travel insurance is not a compulsory requirement for participating in our tours, we strongly advise that you obtain it. It is an affordable option that can prove invaluable when needed. If you have a chronic or ongoing medical condition or a disability that may impact your well-being or limit your participation during the tour, it’s important for the organizers to be aware of this in advance so they can provide the necessary attention and accommodations.

Please note that insurance companies in Armenia do not offer coverage for tourists entering the country during the COVID-2019 pandemic. Therefore, we recommend obtaining travel insurance from your place of residence before traveling to Armenia.

You can find numerous international insurance companies that provide travel insurance online. According to expert ratings, the top three options are Travelex, Allianz Travel Insurance, and InsureMyTrip. The cost of standard travel insurance for a trip to Armenia depends on the tourist’s age, with a minimum price of $30 for a one-week stay in the country, the amount of coverage is up to 100,000 USD.

Since most of our customers purchase tours and other services not in Armenia and our legal company is located in Armenia, there are three main payment scripts for the travel services that you purchased from us.

  1. Pay on Arrival:
    • With this option, you will receive confirmation and all necessary booking documents without the need for a prepayment. Payment is made in person upon your arrival in Armenia. This method is particularly suitable for last-minute tours when the tour date is within 2-3 days, and it’s unlikely that your payment will reach our account before your arrival. It is also applicable when booking a hotel, as in most cases, you can settle your payment directly at the hotel after your arrival.
  2. Partial Advance Payment:
    • You can choose to make a certain advance payment, typically no more than 20% of the total cost, to secure the service you’re interested in. This payment method is used for services where your failure to appear may result in damages and losses for the tour operator and service provider. When using this payment option, the tour operator will specify the non-refundable portion of the payment and the cancellation conditions without penalties. This method is commonly used for booking small individual tours and is mandatory for group tours with guaranteed departure.
  3. Full Prepayment:
    • The third payment option involves making a 100% full prepayment for the entire list of tourist services. This method is used for services where providers require full payment in advance and impose fines in case of a no-show. This is especially typical for popular hotels and resorts during the high season. The requirement for full payment may also be applied to corporate tours and large individual groups, which involve substantial costs for preparation and execution.

Additional services that were ordered after arrival, beyond the scope of pre-confirmed services, can be calculated and paid both during the tour and after it, subject to a letter of guarantee, before drawing up a bilateral certificate of provision and payment for services.
