Гора Немрут расположена в хребте Таврских горах, высота 2134 м.

В 19 веке на горе был обнаружен гробница-святилище, вероятно, был сделан Антиохом I Ервандуни, царем Коммагене (69-34 г до н.э.). Статуи и многие другие памятники размещены на искусственных площадках восточной и западной частей святилища, на которых имеются скульптуры и надписи. Статуи высотой до восьми метров изображают богов Коммагена и Антиоха I, сидящих на престолах. Здесь также установлены статуи Арамазда, Михри и других богов. Среди скульптур изображены предки царя. На некоторых из этих плит есть греческие надписи. В греческой надписи на троне Антиоха I обосновывает необходимость строительства гробницы-святилища. В армянском нагорье и за его пределами святилище Немрут является одним из крупнейших.

Немрут – одна из любимых гор армянского народа. Многие мифы и ритуалы связаны с этой горой, многие истории и песни посвящены ей. Святилище горы Немрут включено в Список всемирного наследия ЮНЕСКО.
