Easter, symbolizing blossom of nature, is considered to be the most beloved and major one within Armenian holidays. The Resurrection of Christ is the base of Christian teaching and beliefs. Armenian Apostolic church celebrates it on the first Sunday of the full moon, following spring equinox.

In Armenia we paint eggs on Easter. Traditionally they are painted red. Red, as well as wine symbolizes Jesus Christ’s blood. People have fish, lavash (Armenian national bread), rice pilaf with raisins, wine and painted eggs are present on the festive table. Sometimes eggs are colored differently and decorated with variable ribbons and threads; from 22nd of March up to 26th of April (35 days).
