Sightseeing tour in Yerevan

A walking tour of the Yerevan district of Kond. The district is located on a hill just a few steps from the center, yet as soon as you step there, it feels like you've entered a completely different dimension from the modern city with its business centers and cafes. Here, the Yerevan that our fathers and grandfathers knew is still preserved: narrow cozy streets with closely nestled houses, children playing in the yards, and cobblestone-paved sidewalks. This is exactly the side of Yerevan that everyone should experience to understand the city's multifaceted nature. Don't forget your camera.

Next, we will visit the Matenadaran Museum-Institute of Ancient Manuscripts. The museum's collection boasts 17,000 ancient manuscripts and around 100,000 antique documents, making it one of the largest repositories of manuscripts in the world. At the Matenadaran, you will find many fascinating and even impressive exhibits, such as the world's smallest Bible, which weighs just 19 grams.

Wine tasting at the wine cellar of the Maran Winery, located on the outskirts of Yerevan. Here it is always pleasantly cool, very mysterious, and quiet. The winery employs only 13 people: the Arutyunyan family, who cultivate the grapes and produce wine following the example of their ancestors, and five others. Each of them will gladly tell you about the characteristics of their wine and winemaking traditions in Armenia over a glass of excellent wine.

Lunch at the "Aintab" restaurant, where we will sample unique dishes, salads, and beverages from the Western Armenian cuisine.

Visit to the Komitas Museum-Institute, the founder of modern Armenian classical music. A brilliant composer, performer, and musicologist, who introduced Armenian melodies to the world, arranging folk songs for orchestral instruments. This is a unique opportunity to explore the legacy of the great Komitas, visit permanent and temporary exhibitions, and explore the rich collection of materials related to the maestro's work and his last tragic days.

After immersing ourselves in high art, we deserve something lighter and more enjoyable. To do so, we will head to the souvenir market in Yerevan known as "Vernissage" - the so-called flea market. Here, you can purchase Armenian souvenirs, keychains, gold and silver jewelry, paintings, and much more. The most important thing is that practically every item is made in Armenian style. The souvenir you acquire will serve as a unique link to Armenia!

During sunset, Yerevan is painted with soft, mysterious tones, and this is especially felt at the Cascade - an open-air park-museum. Our evening stroll will take place in this beautiful park in the heart of the city, where truly impressive examples of modern sculpture art are showcased. By the way, the Cascade is the only park in the world where two works by the famous sculptor Fernando Botero are exhibited simultaneously.

Dinner at the tavern "Yerevan": delicious national dishes accompanied by live performances of folk songs. Is there a better way to conclude this rich and immersive experience of getting to know Yerevan? That's a rhetorical question!
