Armenia on Wheels: Bike Tour

08:00 Departure from Yerevan by car with an instructor. The bicycles will be in special transport, which will remain with us throughout the trip. 10:00 Arrival in Gyumri: the city of arts and crafts. The place is famous for its unique architecture. Many buildings have special sculptures, windows and entrances with onion arches. The structures were mainly built with black and red tuff. Small city tour. We will visit the Street of Masters, Vardanants Square, where the Church of the Holy Mother of God (XIX century) and the Church of the Holy Savior (XIX) are located. The latter was built in the likeness of the Ani Cathedral (X). 11:00 Departure from Gyumri on bicycles. This is where the exciting bike tour begins. The road is of average difficulty, but varied, it’s worth stocking up with a camera. 13:30 We will bike to the crystal clear Trchkan waterfall, which is rightfully considered the most beautiful and most abundant in Armenia. We will cover the last part of the road by truck. 14:00 Rest and picnic in the lap of nature near the Trchkan waterfall. Swimming enthusiasts can enjoy the fresh water. 15:30 Next we head to the city of Vanadzor, which is surrounded by powerful mountains. If desired, you can travel the road by car. 17:30 Arrival and rest in Vanadzor. We will stay in a rural house with Armenian flavor. For dinner, a dish from the local region. The cycling distance is 75 km of average difficulty.

09:00 Departure from Vanadzor to Dilijan. The road is one of the most beautiful in Armenia, the landscape changes all the time and will not leave you bored, you will see dense forests, clear rivers and rural houses. 13:00 The villages of Fioletovo and Lermontovo, where Russian Molokans live. They differ from Orthodox Russians in their special interpretation of the Bible. They don't drink, don't smoke, are peaceful and hardworking. During the tour we will have lunch with them and get acquainted with their way of life, culture and delicious cuisine. 16:00 Arrival in the green city of Dilijan. The place is famous for its unique nature, mineral water and is considered one of the best resorts in our country. We will also visit the Old Dilijan complex, where you will get acquainted with the unique architecture. 17:00 Accommodation at the beautiful Tun Armenia restaurant. It has a nice garden, delicious cuisine and comfortable rooms. The cycling distance is 40 km of average difficulty.

08:00 Departure for a tour for new experiences. Here the landscape changes and instead of forests we will see mountain hills, and then the crystal beautiful Lake Sevan. The lake has the status of a national park due to its unique flora and fauna. If the tour is in spring or autumn, we will organize bird watching. It is home to 267 bird species, many of which are migratory. The lake is also considered an important population site for the Armenian gull. The Sevanavank Monastery is located on the hill, offering a wonderful view of the lake and the surrounding magnificent mountains. Holidays on one of the best shores of Sevan: Wishup shore. The beach is very clean, convenient for swimming, there are also various sports such as water skiing, sailing, scooters, you can go on a boat or on a yacht. Here we will taste delicious local trout fish. Accommodation in a cozy hotel. If desired, we can spend the night in tents. The cycling distance is 70 km of average difficulty.

08:00 From Sevan we will go to the Bjni fortress located on a hill next to the village of the same name. On the territory of the fortress there is an underground tunnel that functioned back in the 19th century and it is said that a secret path led to the Hrazdan River. The landscape from the fortress is breathtaking. On one side is the village of Bjni in the palm of your hand among orchards, and on the other side is the miniature church of St. Sarkis (VII). 17:00 Arrival in Yerevan. The cycling distance is 110 km of average difficulty. On request, part of the road can be driven by car.
