The village of Hankavan has many amazing and rare plants, but in addition to vegetation, the village is also known for its hot springs, which are considered the most beneficial springs that currently exist in Armenia.
Hankavan is located 90 km from Yerevan and has many health resorts. Of the springs, the deepest is several hundred meters deep and has a height of 1800 meters.
The water contains bicarbonate, chloride, sodium and iron. The water has a temperature of 43 degrees.
On the territory there are separate cabins without a roof with swimming pools that are designed for 4 – 5 people. There is no separate changing room on site, which is an inconvenience for visitors in winter. Swimming is generally allowed for up to 60 minutes, but there are exceptions if there is a specific certificate from a doctor with prescribed treatment or disease prevention. After swimming, it is not recommended to shower for several hours in order to increase the beneficial effect on the body.
The place is also ideal for sports lovers to relax and unwind.
