The Sanahin Bridge is one of the significant engineering structures of medieval Armenia. It is located in the city of Alaverdi in the Lori region, above the Debed River. In the 12th century, this bridge was built under the patronage of Zakare and Ivane Zakayaryan’s sister Vaneni, in memory of her early deceased husband, King Abas Kyurikyan. The bridge is located over the narrow and fertile banks of the Debed River.

This basalt bridge with its enchanting outlines, variety of stones and colors blends with the picturesque surroundings, becoming its inseparable treasure. Not far from the bridge are the monasteries of Haghpat and Sanain, as well as Kobayr.
