The Orbeli Brothers Museum is located in the city of Tsakhkadzor. The museum was decided to open in 1972 by the meeting of USSR ministers, but it was opened only on July 6, 1982 as part of events dedicated to centenary of one of the brothers Levon Orbeli The museum is included in the list of immovable historical and cultural monuments of Tsakhkadzor The purpose of the museum house is to preserve and transfer to future generations spiritual values and material evidence associated with the Orbel brothers. The museum is under the jurisdiction of the RA Ministry of Culture.

The museum has a large collection of about2000 cultural propertybooks, manuscripts, photographs, personal belongings, documents, household items. The collection was assembled mainly by museum employees, who were helped by relatives, friends and students of the brothers. The main part was brought from St. Petersburg.

The main collection of the house-museum consists of two parts: scientific and memorial. The order of the scientific and public collection of the Orbeli brothers is presented in chronological order.

The Museum organizes anniversaries, temporary exhibitions, open lessons, book presentations, as well as scientific readings, memorial evenings dedicated to the Orbeli brothers, during which Orbeli’s favorite melodies are sung and excerpts from their letters are read. Students from general education and art schools in the city take part in these events, and representatives from different walks of life are invited.
