“Gallery of Sisters Mariam and Yeranui Aslamazyan”was created in 1987, where original works donated by the Aslamazyan sisters are exhibited: a collection of paintings, graphics and ceramics. The total stock of the house-museum is about 620 works of art.

The gallery is located on Abovyan Street, very close to Vardanants Square in Gyumri. This building was built in 1880 by the famous wealthy merchants Keshishovs in Gyumri as a residential building. The building of the house-museum is a typical example of the urban architecture of Gyumri (Alexandropol) of the 19th century, incorporating elements of traditional Armenian and European architecture of the time, creating an original portrait of the old city, with a typical Gyumri courtyard, tuff-lined, courtyard and balcony. The building is part of the Kumayri Museum-Reserve and is a landmark on the list of state-protected historical and cultural heritage sites.

The works of Mariam Aslamazyan (People’s Artist of the USSR) are made using decorative and artistic solutions, and the composition is built according to the oriental principle: objects are distributed in accordance with color lighting. She created Armenian life, compositions depicting nature, landscapes, still lifes, portraits and applied objects.

In the work ofEranui Aslamazyan(Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR) there are many restrained, subtle color transitions, rich bio-philosophical layers, where she tried to reveal even layers of shadow. She created landscapes, still lifes, portraits and panels.
