Рынки являются самыми таинственными и уникальными местами в каждой стране. Жалко, что с появлением больших сетевых магазинов, роль таких мест уходит на второй план, и в недалеком будущем вовсе и может изчезнуть из нашей жизни. Один из таких загадочных мест Еревана – это рынок ГУМ.
Во времена СССР на месте нынешнего базара был Государственный Универсальный Магазин, (ГУМ) а рядом, под открытым небом, люди торговали своим добром. После распада СССР, магазин перестал работать, торговцы заняли свои места в здании, и вскоре это место стало продуктовым рынком, а название осталось прежнем.
Атмосфера в маркете, как и во всей стране-гостепреиммная: каждый угостит, поговорит и объяснит, даст небольшие подарки и килограмм побольше добавит. Территория маркета разделена на части. Лучше начать осмотр со стороны лаваша. Купить вкусный армянский хлеб и пойти дальше, к разделу сыра. Здесь вы найдете разные виды сыра-козье, баранье сыр, сыр чечил и обычный, разной жирности. Можете накупить сыра и пойти в раздел свежей зелени, запах которых можно почувствовать из далека. Попросите продавца помыть зелени, и вот – ваш вкусный бутерброд готов. После зелени идут лавки со свежими фруктами. Если вам повезло побывать в стране в летный период, то у вас будет возможность попробовать самые вкусные фрукты на земле-абрикосы, персики, черешни, сливы. Если хотите приготовить шашлык, то вам тоже стоит приехать сюда: ассортимент самых разных видом мяса ждет вас-баранина, телятина, свинина, курица и индейка. Самое главное все свежее. Какой же восточный рынок без бастурмы и суджуха, сухофруктов и специй. Все это вы найдете здесь.
В данный момент крытый рынок Гум в Ереване единственный в столице рынок такого масштаба.
