Yerevan is the city of bright colors and interesting opportunities, which are not fully revealed even by locals. We decided to show the Yerevan, which often escapes from prying eyes of tourists. It is some kind of alternative to our classical City tour in Yerevan, in the meantime it’s not necessary to take part in the first, and only then – in the second city tour. Of course, it's more preferable to take part in both tours, so you can open Yerevan as it is – with all its undiscovered beauty, mysterious and picturesque alleys and parks, which you can't find in any European cities, and also get acquainted with ancient and fascinating history and culture, represented in Yerevan's museums.

Tour programm

Walking tour in Kond district in Yerevan. The district is situated near downtown, but the moment you enter there, the feeling of some parallel universe appears, which is free of many business-centers and cafeterias. Here one can find the Yerevan, which was known to our fathers and grandfathers: narrow cozy streets with lot of children playing in the yards, cobblestone walkways, old-style houses and buildings. It is the side of Yerevan, which should be felt by everyone – to fully understand the diversity of Yerevan. Don’t forget you photo camera!
Afterwards we’ll be heading to Matenadaran – museum-institute of ancient manuscripts. The collection of museum consists of over 17 thousand ancient manuscripts and near 100 thousand ancient documents, and considered as one of the largest repositories of manuscripts in the world. Here one can find many interesting and even impressive artifacts, as the smallest Bible in the world, which weighs 19 gram, can you imagine it?
Armenian wine tasting in the wine cellar of “Maran” winery, which situated in Yerevan suburb. It’s always pleasantly cool here, very mysterious and quiet. There are 13 people working at the winery: the family of Harutyunyants, and 5 other workers. And every single of them would share a glass of wine with you and tell you about peculiarities of their wine and wine-making traditions in Armenia.
Dinner at “Ayntap” restaurant, where we will taste unique dishes, salads and beverages of Western-Armenian cuisine.
Visiting Komitas museum-institute. Komitas was the founder of modern Armenian classical music. Genius composer, musician, musicologist, who represented to the world Armenian national melodies. This is a unique occasion to get acquainted with the legacy of the great Komitas, to visit the permanent and temporary exhibitions and get acquainted with the rich collection of materials related to creativity and the last tragic days of maestro.
Now, when we’ve been through some serious stuff, we have all the rights to make fun. And for that we will visit the souvenir market Vernissage for shopping. Here we can purchase Armenian souvenirs, paintings, key chains, golden and silver jewelry and many other things. Most importantly, almost any thing in Vernissage is made in the Armenian style. These souvenirs will be a connecting link with Armenia!
Yerevan is mysteriously beautiful at the sunset, and best place to feel it is in the Cascade - the park-museum under the open sky. Our evening walking tour will take place in a beautiful park in the heart of the city – where you can find really impressive patterns of modern art. By the way, Cascade is the only park in the world, where three works of legendary sculptor Fernando Botero are represented.
Lunch at “Afrikyanner” tavern: tasty traditional dishes, live traditional music and songs. Is there any better way to end this beautiful acquaintance with Yerevan? This is rhetorical question!

Two days to explore Yerevan
I want to say thank you very much! We spent two stunning days in Yerevan. The guide and the driver were real professionals, as well as good people, and we pleasantly spent our time with them. We would like to separately talk about our guide Gor who did all possible so that we got the most of those two days! We would eagerly come again! Regards, Natalya
