Overview

The uniquely conceived Sightseeing circular tour offers everyone the opportunity to embark on a rich journey through the most interesting and mysterious places of Armenia. In just five days, we will experience Armenia as it is, feel its diversity, meet new people, and taste new dishes. This tour can also be called the “Golden Ring of Armenia” because during our journey, we will create a kind of ring around the country, never traversing the same road twice. Throughout this tour, our focus will not be solely on Yerevan; instead, we will explore the entire colorful palette of Armenia. We will stay overnight in the most charming and cozy hotels and guesthouses, surrounded by picturesque nature and intriguing historical landmarks throughout the journey.

Itinerary
Expand all
Upon meeting at the airport, we will immediately embark on an introduction to the capital of Armenia - Yerevan. After a bus tour of the city's important cultural and historical sites, we will head to a restaurant to experience another equally important aspect of Armenia - its national cuisine. Following lunch, we will depart from Yerevan and head southeast to the legendary Khor Virap Monastery. Essentially, Christianity spread across Armenia from here in the early 4th century when Armenia became the world's first country to adopt Christianity as the state religion. Next on our itinerary is the equally picturesque Noravank Monastery, built in the early medieval period. Lost in the scenic red rocks, the monastery holds countless secrets and legends that we will explore together. Dinner will take place at the charming guesthouse "Old Bridge" in the winemaking region of Yeghegnadzor, where, by the way, homemade wine is produced. This is where we will spend the night.
  • Departure from Yerevan
  • Arrival at Yegenadzor
  • Travel time: 10 hours / 150 km
  • Meals: lunch, dinner
After breakfast, we will travel to the world's longest cable car, "Wings of Tatev," and ride it to the medieval Tatev Monastery. Describing the beauty of the architecture and the surrounding nature seems challenging - one must personally visit here to feel the unique atmosphere of the monastery. It's worth noting that Tatev Monastery is rightfully considered one of the most popular destinations for tourists and Christian pilgrims. The settlement of Old Khndzoresk is famous for its extensive cave dwellings, labyrinths that were inhabited from ancient times until, imagine this, the mid-20th century. Lunch will be served at the cozy restaurant of the Mirav Hotel in the city of Goris. Next, we will visit the ancient open-air observatory of Carahunge (Karahunj also called Zorats Karer), which is almost a hundred years older than the famous Stonehenge and is a prehistoric site known as the Armenian Stonehenge. In the city of Jermuk, we will stroll through the streets, visit the famous waterfall, and have the opportunity to try the renowned healing water from the Jermuk springs. For the night, we will stay at the Luci Tour Hermon Hotel in the village of Hermon. A delightful dinner is planned here, as usual.
  • Departure from Yeghegnadzor
  • Arrival at Hermon
  • Travel time:  11 hours / 310 km
  • Meals: three meals a day
In the morning, we will have breakfast at the hotel. Our first destination is the Caravanserai of Vardenyats, a medieval hotel on the Great Silk Road. Merchants and travelers used to stay here, and the building itself, which is over 600 years old, has been preserved almost in its original form. Closer to Lake Sevan, we will visit the medieval monument Noratus - thousands of ancient khachkars - stone slabs with engraved crosses, creating a truly impressive sight. After lunch at the lakeside restaurant "Tsovatsots," where we will taste dishes prepared from the gifts of Sevan - the so-called fish gata, we will visit two picturesque ancient temples - Hayravank and Sevanavank. In the guesthouse "Tsaghkunk" in the village of the same name, we will participate in a master class on cooking lamb in a tonir (for groups of 10+). After dinner, we will head to the "Tsaghkahovit" hotel in the city of Tsaghkadzor for an overnight stay.
  • Departure from Hermon
  • Arrival at Tsaghkadzor
  • Travel time:  10 hours / 180 km
  • Meals: three meals a day
On the morning of the fourth day, we will take a stroll through the picturesque resort town of Tsaghkadzor, ride the cable car to another level, enjoying the scenic views of the surrounding nature, walk through wooded hills, and then visit the Kecharis Monastery. From Tsaghkadzor, we will travel to the only restored pagan temple of Garni from the Hellenistic period in the region. In the territory of the Garni temple, you can find an ancient Roman bathhouse and the ruins of a city wall. In the village of Garni, we will participate in a lavash baking masterclass and taste Armenian village cuisine at a guesthouse. After lunch, we will visit the medieval Geghard Monastery. Many consider Geghard to be the culmination of Armenian medieval architecture. The monastery is not only distinguished by its beauty and incredible energy, but part of it is carved into the rock, and thanks to its unique acoustics, even a quiet whisper can spread throughout the halls. Upon returning to Yerevan, we will stay at the charming Silk Road Hotel in an ethnic style.
  • Departure from Tsaghkadzor
  • Arrival in Yerevan
  • Travel time:  8 hours / 120 km
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch
In the morning, we will embark on an exciting tour of Yerevan. To begin, we will visit the History Museum of Armenia, where hundreds of exhibits related to the history of Armenia and the region are on display, dating from 2 million years BCE to recent times. Next, we will head to the Yerevan Brandy Company Noy, built on the site of the famous Yerevan Fortress. In the cellar-museum, we will learn about the history, methods of preparation, and storage of the renowned Armenian wine and brandy, Noy. Finally, we will have the opportunity to taste several types and varieties of brandy and wine. After lunch at the exquisite restaurant Kamancha, we will go shopping at the Tashir market for sweets and dried fruits and explore the Vernissage souvenir and handicraft market. Following these activities, we will proceed to the airport.

On spring break
Budylina Lidiya Anatolyevna
During spring break, we made an unforgettable trip around Armenia (sightseeing circular tour). In 5 days we saw different Armenia: winter in Tsakhkadzor and spring, blooming in the Ararat Valley. The sun smiled at us in Tatev, and we will forever remember the beauty of this place. Overcoming the Vardanyants Pass among the snow and clouds left an indelible impression. The entire tour program was compiled very professionally; it allows you to see natural beauty, historical monuments, and traditions of the people. All hotels and food are beyond praise! We would all like to come back here again. Many thanks to those people who helped us understand and love this country. These are great professionals in their field: our guide Gor Karapetyan and driver Ashot Sakanyan. They were the ones who made our trip so interesting and relaxing. Thanks to them and the entire Barev, Armenia team!!! Teachers, students and parents of Lyceum No. 11 in Khimki, Moscow region.

Прекрасная Армения
Oksana Kartseva
Only 4 days have passed since the end of our tour, and we really want to go back, we so miss the extraordinary beauty of Armenia, the true good nature and hospitality of the local people and, of course, a variety of goodies, of which there were more than enough! I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to our guide Ashot, who is a true combination of high professionalism, talent and boundless love for his country, to the driver Aro, with whom it is not scary to drive along the steepest serpentine road, and, of course, to Armen - the most patient manager in the world: ) Guys, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping our dream come true! Our only regret was that our tour was too short. But we will definitely be back, and very soon! :) With boundless respect and gratitude, S& O

We recently returned from Armenia, where our family of 5 spent 9 wonderful and memorable days. We would like to say a big thank you to the entire team of the travel company "Barev Armenia" for the good organization and conduct of our trip around the country, as well as personally to the tour manager Satina, tour guide Gor Karapetyan and driver Mihran! Gor and Mihran, with whom we traveled directly around Armenia, are attentive, kind and sensitive people, high professionals in their field. Thanks to them, we discovered a beautiful country with a huge historical past, deserving deep respect, and a good modern present, with wonderful picturesque landscapes of mountains and plains, a beautiful capital - Yerevan and friendly residents. We were struck by Gore's erudition and knowledge of all issues, despite his very young age. He knows how to captivate with his interesting story and charge his tireless energy and warmth. Thanks to Gor, we fell in love with Armenian songs and playing the duduk. We really liked everything we saw and heard during the excursions! After the trip we are filled with positive impressions and kind memories of Armenia! Thanks to the hospitable country and all the wonderful people we had the opportunity to meet and get acquainted with there! Best regards, group from Kazakhstan.
