There is a joke, that the first tourist to visit Armenia was Noah. And the first tour operator was God himself. In this incredible journey we will be heading to the South from Yerevan – through Ararat Province to Vayots Dzor Province – and will come closer to Ararat's piedmont near Armenian-Turkish border. As we know, the most famous symbol for Armenians – Mount Ararat isn't located on the territory of Republic of Armenia. Nonetheless, Khor Virap offers the best view to admire the mount. And here we will take our first stop.

The main part of our journey will take place in Vayots Dzor Province – in Areni wine region, where we will visit 6000 years old winery - one of the oldest evidences of wine-making in Armenia, where  archaeological excavations are still ongoing. Here, in Areni we will taste wines, which are produced from one of the oldest brands of grapes “Black Areni”. It is particularly interesting to visit here during the Areni Wine Festival. We also will not miss the opportunity to visit the medieval monastery complex Noravank.

We will finish our tour by visiting one of the famous mountain spa-towns of region – city of Jermuk. After visiting city sightseeings and tasting the variety of local mineral water, we will take a ride on SUVs to the hot mineral springs, where anyone can take natural bath and free himself from the exhaustion of a busy day.

Tour programm

Departure from Yerevan.
First stop – legendary Khor Virap Monastery. Spread of Christianity in Armenia starts from this place. In clear weather it offers magnificent views on the Mount Ararat.
Visiting Trchuneri (Bird) cave or Areni 1 cave in Areni wine region, where we also can find 6000 years old winery. In this place archaeologists had found the oldest shoe in history.
Visiting Areni village. The famous and one of the oldest brands of grapes Areni grows in this region. One can find a lot of big and small wineries here, tasting halls, as well as many local winemakers. We will not miss a chance to taste local red wine in one of these places.
Visiting 13th-century monastery complex Noravank, which is surrounded with red mystical cliffs. In the 13th–14th centuries the monastery was a residence of Syunik's bishops and, consequently, a major religious and, later, cultural center of Armenia.
Pre-order lunch in Areni village. There is a big choice for lunch-places: a restaurant in a cave, wooden-made restaurant on the river shore or a house of local winemaker.
After the lunch we will take a ride to Jermuk, where we will visit Jermuk waterfall, mineral water springs, and also Kechut reservoir. After a walk through the city, we will take a ride on SUVs to the hot mineral springs, where anyone can take natural bath in any weather.
Return to Yerevan.
