Tour to Tatev from Yerevan is our most popular destination. Tatev Monastery is a unique masterpiece of Armenian architecture built in the 9th century. This monastery was one of the oldest spiritual centers of medieval Armenia, as well as the largest university of its time. Thanks to the construction of the longest cable car in the world, Wings of Tatev (5.7 km), the complex has become one of the most frequently visited places in Armenia. Through the efforts of the Tatev Revival project, the tourist destination, stretching to the south of the country, has become practically the most active and in demand in Armenia, not only among locals, but also for guests of Armenia.
If you start your journey from Yerevan, we advise you to visit Tatev with at least one overnight stay, as the road leading to the complex is quite long, and along the way there are a lot of wonderful sights that are definitely worth a visit. If the one-day tour option is convenient for you, then keep in mind that we will only stop in Areni, Noravank and Karahunj in order to gain time. In the Tatev monastery complex you will see powerful fortresses towering over steep cliffs, an ancient dairy with millstones, a swinging pillar (Ghavanan, a unique medieval structure), the crypt of Grigor Tatrevatsi, the last saint in the Armenian Church, and the oldest frescoes of European masters. You can organize a lunch break both in a restaurant and in Tatev: in a rural house, where you will try homemade dishes from local products.
