\"Aram<\/a>Performing Struggle of Representatives from 13 Countries<\/h3>\n

Aram Khachaturian is a great composer,\u00a0standing at the peak of Armenian musical culture\u00a0and having an unusually significant contribution\u00a0to the classic music of the past century. His talent\u00a0is revered and loved by connoisseurs of art,\u00a0regardless of ethnicity; his works are understandable\u00a0worldwide. The works of this talent are close\u00a0to heart and loved by people on different continents,\u00a0his music can truly be considered as the heritage\u00a0of all mankind. UNESCO mentions the name\u00a0of Khachaturian among the most famous composers\u00a0of the twentieth century, and puts his\u00a0\u201cSabre Dance\u201d from the famous ballet \u201cGayane\u201d\u00a0on one of the first places in the list of the most\u00a0popular works of our time.
\nIt is impossible to overestimate the importance\u00a0of the composer\u2019s art for the world music culture.\u00a0Taking into consideration this indisputable fact,\u00a0from 2003 in June 6-13 in Yerevan is being held\u00a0Aram Khachaturian international competition.\u00a0Originally the competition was aimed at identifying\u00a0talented young musicians in three specialties \u2013
\n\u201cPiano\u201d, \u201cViolin\u201d and \u201cCello\u201d, but since 2011\u00a0young composers also have been provided with an\u00a0opportunity to participate in the competition.
\nSince 2007 State Youth Orchestra of Armenia\u00a0(Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Sergey\u00a0Smbatyan) has been the official orchestra of Aram\u00a0Khachaturian International Competition.
\nGeography of participants is very wide, it\u00a0incorporates representatives from the U.S.,\u00a0Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Spain, Italy,\u00a0Belgium, Britain, China, Belgium and other countries.\u00a0The project is implemented thanks to joint\u00a0efforts of RA Ministry of Culture, \u201cAram\u00a0Khachaturian-competition\u201d Cultural Foundation\u00a0and Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. It is held\u00a0under the high patronage of the First Lady of RA\u00a0Mrs. Rita Sargsyan, who is the honorary chairman\u00a0of the board of trustees of the competition.
\nIn 2012 the third prize of the Aram\u00a0Khachaturian International Competition was\u00a0awarded to Nakamura Daichi from Japan, the first\u00a0prize was shared between Pavel Milyukov from\u00a0Russia and Tanabe Ayako from Japan, and the second\u00a0prize was not awarded. For the first time in the\u00a0history of the competition the jury made a decision\u00a0to award the Grand Prix, and the lucky winner of\u00a0the award became Fedor Roudine (Russia\/\u00a0France), who was also awarded a special prize in\u00a0the nomination \u201cAudience Award\u201d.<\/p>\n

In 2013 on 6-14 June the 9th Aram Khachaturian\u00a0International Competition will be held for cello specialty\u00a0only. This year Yerevan will witness performing struggle of\u00a0cultural representatives from 13 countries:<\/p>\n

The jury staff is composed of such prominent musicians\u00a0as Aleksey Seleznev (Russia), Anja Lechner (Germany),\u00a0Aram Talalyan (Armenia), Cristian Florea\u00a0(Moldova\/Romania), Erkki Lahensmaa (Finland), Ole\u00a0Akahoshi (USA\/Japan), Tanya Dorn (Germany), Timora\u00a0Rosler (Netherlands\/Israel). A list of these names guarantees
\nimpartiality and determines the status and high level of the\u00a0competition.
\nThe Aram Khachaturian International Competition\u00a0Organizing Committee determines the following prizes for\u00a0violin specialty:\u00a0First Prize – $15 000 (US dollars) and Laureate Diploma\u00a0Second Prize – $10 000 (US dollars) and Laureate\u00a0Diploma\u00a0Third Prize – $5 000 (US dollars) and Laureate Diploma\u00a0Non-prize-winning finalists will each receive a $2,000\u00a0grant and a Diploma.
\nConsolidation of so many talented people of different nationalities within a single project has\u00a0also another important result: the guests of the capital are being introduced to the age-old culture\u00a0of Armenia, they are visiting the sights and later taking away with them wonderful memories of\u00a0the land, which history goes far back in the days when Noah\u2019s Ark settled on the biblical Mount\u00a0Ararat.
\nIt is noteworthy this year the classic music world celebrates the 110th anniversary of great\u00a0Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian, on the occasion of which Aram Khachaturian\u00a0International Festival will be held worldwide within the whole year. Diverse cultural events are\u00a0planned to take place in the framework of the event.
\nThe aim of the festival is to propagandize Khachaturian music all over the world. Particularly\u00a0the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia headed by its Artistic Director and Principal Conductor\u00a0Sergey Smbatyan will perform Khachaturian music in Riva del Garda (Italy), Moscow, Saint\u00a0Petersburg, New York and many other countries.<\/p>\n
