<\/a>It is spring again\u2026 Human hearts seem to get warmer and warmer under the gradually warming rays of the sun, that fill human souls with an endless desire to love each other, to devote themselves to each other and to flourish. And it is not accidental that we celebrate two holidays of beauty on the 8th of March and on the 7th of April devoted to wives, daughters and mothers just in spring. Women\u2019s holiday was celebrated even in Ancient Rome. That day husbands gave presents to their wives and favoured them with their attention. Dressed in festive clothes, the Romans visited the temple of goddess Venus. That day even bondwomen\u00a0were given the right to rest and sometimes received presents. However, March 8 has passed a long way to become a holiday. The first historical event connected with the international women\u2019s day took place on the 8th of March in 1857 when the woman-workers\u00a0of New York textile factory organized a procession along the streets of the city for the protection of their rights. The reasons were sixteen-hours\u2019 unsatisfactory working conditions and low wages. Fifty years later on the same day another demonstration\u00a0was organized for the protection of women\u2019s rights and in 1909 American Social Organization proclaimed the last Sunday of the February Women\u2019s national day. In 1910 in the all-union conference of woman workers, which took place in the capital of Denmark\u00a0Copenhagen, socialist Clara Tsetkin made a speech offering to declare the 8th of March the international holiday of woman-workers which sounded as a challenge to struggle for the equal rights of women all over the world. On March 19 in 1911 Austria, Denmark,\u00a0Germany and Switzerland followed to her suggestion and for the first time the Women\u2019s International Day was celebrated in these countries. In 1977 UNO proclaimed March 8 Women\u2019s International holiday. In Armenia the 8th of March has officially been celebrating since 1921 and it has become a day-off since 1965. In 1996, several years after the declaration of independence off the countries official calendar. Instead, the 7th of April was declared the day of mothers and beauty. Later, in 2001 a new law about the holidays and memory days was passed according to which March 8 was added to the official calendar. Armenian women are looking forward to this holiday with great expectations. The period from March 8 to April 7 is announced a month devoted to\u00a0women. Each man tries to congratulate his beloved woman or girl in a unique way. The brothers and the sons congratulate their sisters and mothers once more proving their love towards them. During the whole month the streets become overwhelmed with\u00a0the endless rows of bouquets and greeting cards. Each woman or girl herself as a part of the spring which brings love and warmth each day.<\/p>\n
