Original Samples of Modern Statuary<\/strong><\/p>\n

Statuary has its unique place in modern art and one of the remarkable representatives of Armenian modern sculpture\u00a0is Spartak Gevorgyan who presents to the art lovers his works distinguished for their unique style and content,\u00a0the testimony of which are his works: fine bronze statuettes placed on the agate or obsidian pedestals. Surely,\u00a0for the art lovers it is very interesting to know what inspired the artist to crate not only so beautiful but also\u00a0meaningful works. Touching upon this question, the sculptor answered.
\n\u201cI think for each artist or a creative personality his life experience is very important. A person can be inspired by\u00a0the happy and sad moments of his life, and the same is with me. The source of inspiration for me has always been the\u00a0paths through which I walked during my life having many different feelings and adventures\u201d.
\nHis sculptures really attract everyone\u2019s attention from the first sight and everyone immediately wants to know the\u00a0history of their creation and understand what the sculptor felt working on them. So, being sensitive towards each\u00a0phenomenon of life the sculptor could not remain indifferent to the feminine beauty. As the sculptor tells himself:\u00a0\u201cIt was the love towards everything beautiful in life that inclined me to create the interesting series of sculptures\u00a0that includes the women statuettes, such as \u201cTorso\u201d, \u201cThe girl with mirror\u201d, \u201cArtistic model\u201d, \u201cLilit\u201d,\u00a0\u201cGoddess\u201d, etc. If you look at them carefully, you will notice that each sculpture presents different emotions;\u00a0feminine beauty, love inspiration or disappointment\u201d.
\nAnd to the question which statuette is distinguished in this collection, the sculptor answered: \u201cThere is a sculpture \u2013 Anoush which has really become the object of admiration and was loved by many people. This is the sculpture which portrays a girl compressing bunches of grapes. It was especially loved by Armenians as the tradition of making wine from grape is\u00a0spread in Armenian reality since ancient times\u201d.
\nIt is noteworthy that the sculptor hasn’t always worked with models. We tried to find out if it is hard to chisel without\u00a0models and the artist explained so: \u201cChiseling without models is rather interesting than hard as it gives you the opportunity to work trusting to your own imagination\u201d.\u00a0There are also other thematic sculptures among the works of the sculptor, such as animals and other different\u00a0figures. Among his works you will find also the sculptures of famous Armenians, such as poet Sevak, director\u00a0Parajanov, generals Dro and Andranik. His works had very interesting exhibitions both in Armenia and in other countries\u00a0(Syria, France). One of the exhibitions under the title \u201cArt in fashion\u201d took place in the luxury shop \u201cLaGalleria\u201d\u00a0where the art and fashion met each other. There were exhibitions also in the Artists’ Union of Armenia during one of\u00a0which the author\u2019s most favorite work that he had never thought to sell delighted the visitors. The master confessed:\u00a0\u201cFor many times I tried to save my favorite sculpture \u2013 \u201cDecadance\u201d from the visitors\u2019 eyes but one day it also\u00a0appeared in the center of attention and the sale was inevitable\u201d.
\nIt should be mentioned that in Yerevan there is a permanent exhibition of S. Gevorgyan\u2019s works in Arame Art\u00a0Gallery. If you want to have one \u00a0of these unique samples of modern statuary and admire their beauty in your house you\u00a0can buy them just from the sculpture\u2019s workshop. Let\u2019s admire the sculptures expressing the beauty and love and\u00a0wait for new works which surely will not make us wait for a long time as carving is the best way of self-expression for\u00a0the artist.<\/p>\n
