Aragats Northern Summit Hiking Tour with overnight

08:00 Departure from Yerevan for new impressions. 09:00 On the way we will see an open-air museum. This is the Monument to the Armenian Alphabet, which represents sculptures of 39 letters of the Armenian alphabet, and there you will also see monuments to great Armenian thinkers. All of the above is made from beautiful Armenian tuff. You have the opportunity to have your photo taken next to the first letter of your name. 10:30 Amberd fortress (VII century), which amazes with its architecture and beautiful churches (XI). The place is located at an altitude of 2300 meters and the interesting thing is that numerous underground passages led from the castle down the gorge, some of which can still be found. Amberd also had a water supply system. Along the way, meeting the Yazidi people, getting to know their way of life. 11:30 Arrival at the high mountain lake Kari, at the foot of the highest point of Armenia - Mount Aragats. The maximum depth is 8 meters. On the shore of the lake there is a high-altitude research station for primary cosmic rays. The station is still one of the most important scientific institutions in the world. 12:00 To quickly acclimatize, as well as to admire the beautiful mountain scenery, we will climb to the southern peak of Mount Aragats (Height - 3887 meters) from Lake Kari (3200 meters). 14:00 Picnic on the southern peak of the mountain (everyone takes a picnic with them). 17:00 Return to the weather station and rest. 19:00 Dinner.

The northern peak of Mount Aragats is of interest to both real climbers and those who decided to climb a real mountain for the first time. No climbing equipment is required to complete this mountain route. 11:30 Picnic on the northern peak. This is one of those places that you can talk about endlessly, but still cannot describe even part of its indescribable beauty. The northern peak of Aragats has two peaks: false and true. They are separated by a narrow ridge. If there is no snow, the ridge can be climbed without insurance. If there is snow, insurance is required as there may be cornices. But the true peak is only a few meters higher and is more of a sporting interest. 12:00 Next, descend from the mountain through a grandiose crater and a cascade of waterfalls at an altitude of 2800 meters, along the gorge of the Gegharot River, which is so clean that you can drink cold water from there. 17:00 A special car will be waiting for us next to the waterfall. 18:30 Return to Yerevan.
