Founded: 1976

Harisa Festival is celebrated on the second Sunday of September in Musaler village, near Echmiadzin. After the Second World War many Musaler (same name settlement in Western Armenia) settlers moved to the historic homeland and founded Musaler village. Since 1976 annual celebration, dedicated to the heroes of Musaler battle, has been organized here.

Within the annual festival harisa is served to people as a sacrifice to God (in Armenia usually a sheep is sacrificed). Armenian national songs are heard near the fire. The traders take their places early because already in the morning people come for the blessed harisa, and from the neighboring village teachers bring their pupils for excursions… and every year likewise. You can participate in Harisa Festival chosing “Holy Echmiadzin Tour” package.
